BAFTA favourites return!

programme

This week you'll have a second chance to see some of our favourite BAFTA-winning films

To celebrate the BAFTA winning films, this week we’re bringing back an essential selection, so you have the opportunity to re-discover how good they are, or just in case you missed them the first time around.

We hope you were as excited about the BAFTAs as we were! Awards ceremonies are understandably not to everyone’s taste, but there is no doubt that the BAFTAs raise the profile of films and filmmakers, and the awareness of essential work being done behind the scenes. In front of the camera, yes, but also to preserve and expand our access to, and increase our knowledge of, film.

We’d particularly like to highlight the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award winner, June Givanni, for her work as curator and founder of the June Givanni Pan African Cinema Archive in London, a personal collection documenting Pan-African cinema over 40 years, amongst many, many other achievements.

To celebrate the BAFTA winning films, this week we’re bringing back an essential selection, so you have the opportunity to re-discover how good they are, or just in case you missed them the first time around.

In particular we’re excited to bring back the incredible Earth Mama, which we screened back in December. The film is a glowing breakout debut feature of modern motherhood - a quietly devastating, observational film, documentary-like in it's storytelling. And wonderful for it.
