Learning and Engagement
Educational workshops and visits
We offer a selection of creative and heritage-based workshops for schools, colleges, home educators and community groups to encourage a deeper engagement with film.
Sessions are developed and delivered with the Learning and Engagement team at Leeds Heritage Theatres and use our beautiful heritage cinema venue to inspire learning across the curriculum and across all ages. Workshops, projects, film screenings and interactive activities explore topics including foley (sound effects), zoetropes (one of the earliest forms of animation) and shadow puppets. As our programme develops we plan to expand our offer to include longer-term projects, young people’s film clubs and takeover days.
Our Educational workshops and visits are based at the Hyde Park Picture House but some can also be delivered in your school, college, or community space.
To find out more about our offer or if you have an idea for a workshop or project that could be supported by the cinema, then please contact learning@leedsheritagetheatres.com
