Hyde Park Pick: Oink
For children and adults alike, Oink is the film not to miss this week.
Sylvia Barber
An absolute star of the film festival circuit, this rare gem is only a very humble 72 minutes long, therefore great for little fidgeters.
Although the film is in the Dutch language with English subtitles, please don’t let this put you off! The story is simple and sweet, so really easy to follow. Plus, watching subtitled films can be an amazing opportunity to encourage younger audiences to read, help to build their comprehension and understanding and encourages them to start exploring a broader range of films from varied countries and cultures. Also, don’t forget – this is a Pay What You Can screening, so you can try the film out with very little cost (or risk!)
And if that’s not enough? Visitors to our Saturday screening will be encouraged to arrive 30 minutes early to make their very own origami pig as a glorious memento.
Oink is showing at HPPH this weekend with a screening on Sat 19 Oct at 11:00 with crafts from 10:30; an Autism-friendly screening on Sun 20 Oct at 11:00; and another screening at 11:30 on Sunday. You can book Pay What You Can tickets here.
