Winter Film Forum

Get your fill of fantastic films with the return of our popular Film Forum
Winter Film Forum
Make the Hyde Park Picture House your second home this winter, with the return of our Film Forum! Starting this January, over eight weeks you'll join fellow film enthusiasts to watch and discuss four specially selected new releases.
This year we'll have two forum groups – one meeting on alternate Wednesdays and another on alternate Thursdays –  both led by course host Tennae Maki. Passes for both groups are now on sale, with specific discussion dates and times detailed below. We hope you can join us!

FORUM UPDATE! Our Wednesday group is now booked up. But we might be able to squeeze you in if that is the group you prefer / only date you can do. Please email info@hpph.co.uk and we will let you know ASAP if there is a space. Otherwise please book onto the Thursday group.

Key dates & info

What films will I be watching & when?

As part of the Film Forum, you'll be able to book a free ticket for four specially selected new release films, beginning Fri 23 Jan.

Each film will have at least a week of screenings to give you lots of options to see it at whichever time suits you best.

The films you'll be watching will be confirmed nearer the time (in some cases up to two weeks before). As soon as films are confirmed, we'll update this page, and you'll receive an email update as well.

To help you plan ahead, below are the dates when each film will play from:

•  Film #1 • From Fri 23 Jan • No Other Choice (Dir. Park Chan-wook)

•  Film #2 • From Fri 06 Feb

•  Film #3 • From Fri 20 Feb

•  Film #4 • From Fri 6 Mar

Forum discussion dates

As well as watching films every fortnight, on alternate weeks, you'll be meeting in groups to discuss the last film you watched with your group.

Due to popular demand, for this Winter Forum, we'll have two separate groups: Wednesday Group and Thursday Group – meeting on alternate Wednesdays and Thursdays.

We've listened closely to feedback from past forum attendees and limited each group to a smaller size (capped at 14) – with discussions taking place in the upstairs Community Room to allow for better conversation.

Below are the dates for when each group will meet, which will always be between 18:30-20:00.

Wednesday Group:

  1. Wed 04 Feb
  2. Wed 18 Feb
  3. Wed 4 Mar
  4. Wed 18 Mar

Thursday Group:

  1. Thu 05 Feb
  2. Thu 19 Feb
  3. Thu 19 Mar
  4. Thu 19 Mar
Pass info

Passes are £60 (full), £50 (members/concessions).

When booking a pass, you'll be committing to either the Wednesday or Thursday group. You will not be able to switch between groups.

Your pass gets you entry to the four films and four discussions.

Once you've purchased a Film Forum pass, you'll then be able to automatically purchase a free ticket for each of the four films as soon as they become available to book. Tickets will be discounted to £0 once you've logged into your account during checkout.

All past forums have sold out well in advance, so we recommend booking as soon as you can to avoid any disappointment!
