The Colors Within
U

Totsuko is a high-school student with the ability to see the colours of others. Colours of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus a colour she treasures as her favourite. Kimi, a classmate at her school, gives off the most beautiful colour of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a far corner of town. As they practice at an old church on a remote island, music brings them together, forming friendships and stirring affections. Will they discover their true "colours"?

Join us from 10.30am before our Saturday screening for a self-led, drop in activity.
Our Sunday morning Hyde & Seek screenings at 11:00 in Screen Two are Autism friendly. These relaxed screenings are intended to provide a safe environment for neurodiverse audiences and anyone who finds standard screenings challenging. They feature prompt start times, raised lighting, reduced volume and a relaxed attitude to noise and moving around. We reduce the capacity at these screenings to give audiences extra space, so pre-booking is advised as they often sell out.
Details
“Soul-stirring. One of the most exceedingly lovely coming-of-age films in a long while.”
Little White Lies
“With its wide-eyed lack of cynicism and the crystalline delicacy of the animation, this is a heart-swellingly lovely work.”
The Observer
“There are no big dramas, save for a call up to the office for skipping a school trip. Reiko Yoshida’s script instead foregrounds sincere friendship and the joyful mechanics of songwriting.”
The Irish Times
