Finding Optel

Why watch?
“Finding Optel is a hilarious and quirky detective story set in a close-knit community in Cape Town. When the community dog, Optel, goes missing, teen detective Claire sets out on a heartwarming adventure of self-discovery. Set in a community we rarely see represented in family films, Finding Optel is a really special film that had its premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2025.”

GOAT
Claire Abrahams, a self-appointed neighbourhood detective in Cape Town, runs a lost and found service where she locates anything and everything that has been misplaced. When Optel, the community dog, disappears, Claire goes in search of it. But his absence leads her down unexpected paths, even uncovering clues to her missing brother. A beautifully vibrant story that deals sensitively with the subject of grief and reminds us of the healing powers of humour and community.
