Volunteers at HPPH
Our volunteers are a huge part of what makes HPPH the cinema it is today. By giving their time to help audiences and support the Picture House, not only do our volunteers play an important role in keeping the cinema open, but they bring to the Picture House an amazing wealth of ideas, passions and perspectives.
Following our redevelopment and changes in the way our building will operate, the role of our volunteers is evolving too, with new and more specific opportunities for volunteers to be part of the HPPH team.
“It gave me so much sense of belonging being around the amazing staff and volunteers. I wouldn't be doing what I do now without it!”

How to get involved
We're currently pausing applications for Venue Volunteers as we have a full team helping us out. Please keep an eye on this page and our socials for when we're on the hunt for more lovely volunteers.
Following the cinema's reopening, we'll also be sharing details of a new Archive Volunteer role, perfect for anyone interested in helping the cinema understand and share more of its unique history with audiences. Please revisit this page for updates, although this will likely commence in 2024.
“I have met loads of lovely people of all ages - staff, volunteers and customers. I did it for 11 years, so it must have been OK!”

Friends of Hyde Park
Another way to get involved with the cinema is to join the Friends of Hyde Park Picture House. A separate organisation to the Picture House itself, by becoming a member of the Friends you can be part of projects relating to the cinema's heritage, as well as events and screenings the Friends run.
For more details on the Friends and how you can join, visit their website.
“I was looking to get more involved in the arts and culture sector, and I couldn't think of a better place to start than HPPH.”
