New NCT Bumps & Babies group at HPPH

Our Bring Your Own Baby (BYOB) screenings are a great opportunity for new parents and carers to feel a little bit normal and take a bit of time for themselves in a safe, welcoming (and cosy) venue, hopefully alongside a hot beverage and a tasty treat. Following our renovation last year, we are much better placed to support new and growing families with better accessibility, changing facilities and much more room!

Our BYOB screening audience is very forgiving of noisy babies, frequent trips to the toilet and the challenges of baby feeding because they are generally all in the same boat! These screenings are also set up a little differently to accommodate differing needs with raised lighting, reduced volume levels and captioned films, to enable audiences to effectively juggle watching a film and caring for a baby. Plus, seating is unreserved and capacity is limited, to allow more movement and the use of several seats if needed.

We are very lucky that we get to meet some of the teeniest and freshest babies as many parents trust us with their first forays outside in those very early weeks and months. However, we also understand how difficult those early days are and we want to help further, beyond awesome films! Therefore, we’ve teamed up with NCT, the UK’s leading charity for parents to introduce a Bumps & Babies group for expectant and new parents, every first Wednesday of the month at 1pm, following on from our BYOB screening in our Café Bar. This will hopefully be a great opportunity to find a community of like-minded local people (who also like film), as well as to help combat loneliness, make new friends, share stories/information and most importantly, have fun with your baby.
