A space to play
Find out more about Hyde & Seek crafts and how we want to make the Picture House feel like a home for younger people.
It’s important to us that we find ways of trying to make that difference and grandeur feel friendly and welcoming. That’s why we organise our family friendly crafts before most of our Hyde & Seek weekend matinees. Starting 30 minutes before the film starts, these crafts are always very simple activities which are easy to do for young people of lots of different abilities with a little bit of support by a parent or carer and some of our team who are around to help. We supply all the materials you’ll need and a comfy space for colours, sticking, gluing, whatever the situation demands!
We hope that the simple act of making, a form of play, in the cinema can hopefully help to make things feel a little more relaxed. A little more like this space is your space, not ours.
Additionally, the activities we put on are always inspired in some way by the film we’re playing that day so they’re a way of starting to step into a pretty magical world before you’ve even found your seat!
