When one meet-cute wasn’t enough to satisfy the rom-com audiences anymore, along came Serendipity where the characters within the film orchestrate their own second meet-cute using fate.

Romance • Charming • Gentle

Serendipity is the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.

In this 2001 festive classic Jonathan (John Cusack) and Sara (Kate Beckinsale) meet when they both reach for the last pair of cashmere gloves while Christmas shopping in New York. They share what can only be described (at least by me) as the perfect first date. Both in close-to-quits situationships of their own, they leave it to fate to decide whether they will meet again. Years later, when both are engaged to be married, fate (as well as A LOT of effort from them both), near-misses and Shakespearean confusion bring the two close to their last chance to reunite.
