A female university student living in Hirai City is found murdered after reporting that she had been repeatedly stalked. An article in a local newspaper uses insider information to reveal that the police had been slow to act and the department is thrown into disarray as the search for the source of the leak begins.

MORIGUCHI Izumi (SUGISAKI Hana), a member of the Prefectural Police Public Relations and Appeals Section, suspects that her best friend, reporter TSUMURA Chika (MORITA Kokoro), broke a promise to her and wrote the article after Izumi drunkenly let details slip.

Chika denies this and tries to prove her innocence, but is found dead a week later. Moved by remorse and guilt, and with the help of her colleagues, Izumi vows to catch Chika’s killer. However, there are larger and darker issues lurking within the police force.
