Travelling Circus
12A
Việt Linh captures the tragic story of a small circus from Hanoi, arriving in a remote, destitute and starving village in the central highlands of Vietnam. The troupe quickly learn that the villagers are in desperate need of rice, not entertainment, but despite this the circus continues its performances, attracting an ever-growing audience.
Dac, a young impressionable boy, is desperate to believe the illusions of the circus performers are real and will change their fortunes. But, as tensions escalate and events take a turn for the worse the stark contrast between the entertainers' illusions and the villagers' harsh reality is uncovered.
