Why watch?
“Unlike the titans of the genre, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma doesn't have to hide behind metaphor the way Cat People or Freddy’s Revenge did. It can be as explicit about desire, gender, and queerness as it wants to be. That freedom is itself the legacy of everything that came before it. The film is proof that horror has finally learned to come out from the dark.”

Final Girls & Monstrous Others: The legacy of queer horror & Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
After years of slapdash sequels, the Camp Miasma franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.
On Saturday 9th October at 17:15 we're hosting an extra special immersive Creatures of the Night screening hosted by Leeds' own queer horror film club, Queer Fear. Arrive early to join them for a sexy, bloody and meta journey of visual pleasure!
All three screenings are on 35mm which will be likely the only time you'll be able to see the film on this most suitable of formats.
