Roy’s attempt to end his life fails when a woman dressed in a monkey suit intervenes. Beneath the furry costume is Jane, who is in the process of escaping a toxic relationship. Empowered by her alter ego “Monkey”, Jane commandeers Roy and his silver airstream and they take to the open road. The unlikely duo soon hatch a plan that could help finance a new life but could also land them in jail. Hot on their heels is Jane’s controlling partner Wade, who aims to put an end to Jane’s new found freedom.
Nothing says Christmas more than a darkly strange, but brilliantly funny road movie about someone dressed in a full-sized monkey suit. We welcome critically-acclaimed comedian Nina Conti to the Picture House for a Q&A and screening of her endearingly odd and irreverent new film.

The Guardian
“Sunlight is a must-watch and a should-be classic.”
Funny Women Magazine
“After the initial incongruity of Monkey barracking Roy with a stream of filth and expletives... the funniest moments in the film belong to the pair's burgeoning sexual attraction, the kinkiness of the suit, that shame it contains.”
