Paddington in Peru

Why watch?
“With a franchise like this, it can sometimes feel like a worry as you get onto the third instalment – will the charm of everyone’s favourite bear be diluted? After seeing it (and looking forward to seeing it again) I can assure you, there’s no need to worry. Just as loveable as ever, Paddington returns with more wit, wisdom and morals than any human. He’ll make you tearful, have you in fits of laughter and take you on an adventure – this time with Oscar-winning Olivia Colman. My question is when is Paddington’s Oscar coming?”

Giants of la Mancha
Paddington and his adopted family, the Browns and Mrs. Bird, decide to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears in Peru. As always a thrilling adventure ensues this time plunging them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and the mountain peaks of Peru.
For our screening on Saturday, we will be celebrating the launch of the recently renovated bear pit, with a very special drop-in, self led bear hunt around the Picture House from 10.30am and a family friendly introduction from Leeds Civic Trust Director, Martin Hamilton prior to the film.

Our Sunday morning Hyde & Seek screenings at 11:00 in Screen Two are Autism-friendly. These relaxed screenings are intended to provide a safe environment for neurodiverse audiences and anyone who finds standard screenings challenging. They feature prompt start times, raised lighting, reduced volume and a relaxed attitude to noise/moving around. To give audiences extra space, we reduce the capacity at these screenings, so pre-booking is advised as they often sell out.

On Saturday 29th March, our friends at Leeds Civic Trust are having an official opening for the recently renovated Bear Pit on Cardigan Road.
From 12.30pm there will be speeches, a ribbon cutting ceremony, and the unveiling of a new information board, detailing the history and restoration of the bear pit. Afterwards, there will be two small guided tours offering insights into the work done to restore the Bear Pit, along with a chance to get involved in planting some wildflowers in our new bear pit garden!
Additionally, Left Bank are also hosing drop-in consultation workshops to ask our local community what they would like to see from the bear pit in the future.
