Why watch?
“This coming-of-age cheesemaking film’s most lovable feature, for me, is the heartwarming relationship between an older brother, Totone, and his younger sister, Claire. Totone’s personality with his finely balanced bravado and vulnerability is what gives the film so much life and vibrancy.”

Hyde Park Pick: Holy Cow

Finding a way to earn a living to support them both is top of the list so Totone sets out to make the best Comté cheese in the region in an attempt to win the gold medal and 30,000 euros at the agricultural competition.
Holy Cow premiered at 2024's Cannes Film Festival‘s Un Certain Regard before going on to win the Youth Prize as well as picking up Best First Film and Best Female Revelation at the French César Awards. These festival successes speak to the significant warmth and charm of this debut feature including stunning performances across the board with a particular stand out from Clément Faveau as Totone in his first film role.
We may not be in the award-winning Comté-making region of Jura, but we're very lucky to have some wonderful independent cheese shops in Leeds who are partnering with us on this film: George & Joseph, Metz Cheesemongers and The Cheesy Living Co. The lovely people at these cheese shops are offering HPPH customers 10% off in their shops when you show your Holy Cow ticket. Please show them your love and support!
