Bye Bye Tiberias
PG

Leaving her village to follow her dream of becoming an actress in France, Hiam Abbass (Succession, Paradise Now) also left behind her mother, grandmother and seven sisters. Thirty years later, her filmmaker daughter, Lina, returns with her to journey through the vanished places among the scattered memories of four generations of Palestinian women.
Set between past and present, Bye Bye Tiberias pieces together images of today, family footage from the nineties and historical archives to portray four generations of daring Palestinian women who keep their story and legacy alive through the strength of their bonds, despite exile, dispossession and heartbreak.
This film is supported by Leeds Palestinian Film Festival (LPFF). Now in its 10th Year, LPFF was established with the following aims:
- To tell the stories of Palestine as widely, accessibly and powerfully as possible
- To amplify Palestinian voices by featuring Palestinian film-makers, speakers and artists
