The year was 2002 and the whole world was obsessed with one man (shock), Victoria Beckham's husband, David. Jess (Parminder Nagra) and Jules (Keira Knightley, with Jack Grealish's hair...) were no different, although they didn't JUST think he was gorgeous, they also thought he was great at football.

Desperate to join a team, much to the disapproval of her strict Punjabi parents, Jess is ecstatic when semi-pro footballer Jules notices her skills and she joins her team in secret. Roping in her sister and friends to help her hide it from her parents, Jess struggles to keepie uppie with the lies and life gets complicated, especially when she starts falling for her coach Joe (Jonathan Rhys-Myers).
