On July 29th, we celebrated the official launch of our Cinema Africa! strand, a permanent new home for African cinema in Leeds. Baile Ali, creative producer and the co-founder of Sable Radio, has sent us some wonderful photos from the night that we wanted to share with you.
We screened The Wedding Party, a raucous example of Nollywood at its finest, accompanied by introductions and live African music. We heard from Creative Engagement Officer, Mosa Mpetha, who has led on creating and programming the strand and encouraging change in the wider film industry.
