BYOB Licensing Update
We are beyond thankful to the council for taking the time and care to consider this properly, including commissioning research into the impact on childhood development and sensory exposure to higher-rated films, alongside wider consultation.
These screenings are a great opportunity to visit the cinema, in a friendly, safe and relaxed atmosphere without leaving little ones at home. We are so proud that so many new parents and carers choose the Picture House as one of their first outings with their growing families, and we also recognise how valuable these screenings can be for the wellbeing of those who visit, providing a chance to connect with others, enjoy a great film and feel part of the local community.
We remain proud of our programming for this strand and are fully committed to supporting our BYOB audience. However, we would love the opportunity to share the very best films available with this audience and we are super supportive and excited for this possible development!
That being said, we have some great films coming up over the next few weeks:
Wed 6th May • The Hunger Games
Wed 13th May • Our Land
Wed 20th May • Arco
Wed 27th May • The Sheep Detectives
An opportunity to be part of the conversation
If you are interested in sharing your thoughts or providing some feedback on this as a member of our BYOB audience, we have a local reporter working with the BBC and Yorkshire Post coming to the cinema on Wed 13 May, prior to the Our Land screening. They are interested in hearing from parents and carers about the proposed licensing changes.
