“When this kind of fire starts, it is very hard to put out”.

The cinematic (almost) prequel to the cult, groundbreaking television series, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me chronicles teenage homecoming queen Laura Palmer's harrowing final days.

Laura leads a double life that drags her ever deeper into helplessness and horror as she pieces together the identity of the assailant who has been terrorising her for years whilst attempting to find some light in a nightmarish world. The film is submerged in sadness and melancholy, but there is also compassion, humour and beauty to be found.

Mis-understood and unfairly reviewed by critics on release, the film is a terrifying and tragic look into the last days of a young woman lost and alone in a world of incest, abuse and addiction. Sheryl Lee and Ray Wise are both outstanding as the central father and daughter, and Angelo Badalamenti compliments the films themes with a score is as hauntingly melancholic as it ever was.

After the screening of this David Lynch classic, we welcome The Evolution of Horror podcast to the weird & wonderful town of Twin Peaks, who will be recording a live episode for their new podcast spin off The Detective and the Log Lady.
