Julie (Honor Swinton Byrne), a young film student in the early ’80s, falls for Anthony (Tom Burke) who claims to work for the Foreign Office when she meets him at a house party. Anthony is charismatic but Julie learns he is also complicated and untrustworthy as Hogg’s engrossing drama unfolds.

The Souvenir has been selected by philosopher Gerald Lang (University of Leeds), as part of our Philosophy & Film strand. Gerald will be at the cinema to give a short talk after the screening, exploring some of the philosophical themes in the film.
