Smeaton300 and Leeds 2023 Presents: a screening and panel discussion of acclaimed feature-length documentary Rapid Motion Through Space: An Incomplete History of Speed, from The Cosmic Shambles Network and The Royal Institution.

The film features exclusive input from an eclectic mix of scientists, engineers, sportspeople including Jim Al-Khalili, Helen Sharman and David Gower, as well as about thirty thousand snails. The film focuses on the many incarnations of speed and how it affects us all on land, sea, sky, space and even in our thoughts.

The screening is followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with experts including director Trent Burton and contributors physicist Dr. Helen Czerski, earth scientist Prof. Chris Jackson and conservation biologist Dr. Claire Raisin.
