Original cool girl Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson) is Composure magazine’s resident How-To Girl dreaming of being an investigative journalist. When her friend Michelle (Kathryn Hann) gets her heart broken their boss wagers a bet: If Andie can drive away a guy in 10 days using all the ‘classic’ dating mistakes women make, she will consider publishing one of her more hard-hitting articles. 

The plan? Reel in an unsuspecting guy, advertising exec Ben (Matthew McConaughey) by being a beer-drinking, basketball-loving pick-me dream girl and then switching to a stereotypical mix of ‘crazy’ ‘clingy’ girlfriend tropes.

What she doesn’t bank on is Ben trying to win a bet of his own. Desperately trying to prove to his boss and new client, De Lauer, that he is more than a charismatic ladies’ man (yikes!) he is tasked with making a girl fall in love with him in 10 days.
