Heritage Is Open: Designing the Picture House Project with Page/Park
U
Ensuring #HeritageIsOpen takes a multitude of people. Join us as we hear from one of our key partners, Mark Johnston of Page/Park.
When we reopened our doors this Summer it was with a combination of some fanfare and a fair-sized sigh of relief. After five years on development followed by three long years of closure, two spent building on site, The Picture House Project was finally complete.
Since reopening we've welcomed over 15,000 people through our doors for screenings, craft activities and workshops, talks and panel discussion not to mention popcorn and lovely cakes.
But what of the journey that got us here? Why was change necessary in the first place? And, most importantly, how does one solve the problems of a building like the Picture House without undoing the significance and the magic of it?
