Dying
18
Why watch?
“Dying is an epic dissection of family life passing [also a synonym for death] us by, with a run time I barely noticed, much like how our lives seem to zip past as we grow older and relationships and family networks become more complicated and reticular. Slow down people. Have a look at the patterns we make. Pop to the cinema and see Dying.”
Robb Barham,
Operations & Programme Manager

Hyde Park Pick: Dying

Son Tom busy is rehearsing a new composition titled Dying written by his deeply troubled best friend Bernard and is about to become a father, of sorts; with his ex-girlfriend Liv. Tom’s barely-together younger sister, a dental hygienist, begins a frenzied affair with a married new colleague with whom she shares a passion for self-medication and hedonism.
Details
“A bold, extravagantly crazy story.”
The Guardian
“Manages to be exceedingly funny, often in some of its darkest moments, as well as expectedly sad.”
The Hollywood Reporter
“Dying is an enlightening punch in the gut, as Glasner offers the increasingly rare opportunity of a cinema that immerses us in the depths of the human experience without varnish or sentimentalism.”
