Jesse Plemons is outstanding as a conspiracy-obsessed warehouse worker, who plans to kidnap a powerful CEO Michelle, Emma Stone, with the help of his brother as they believe she is an alien intent on destroying Earth. However, the situation quickly spirals out of control as the kidnapped Michelle fiercely denies their accusations and a detective starts sniffing around for any clues about her sudden disappearance.

Bugonia is a remake of the Korean film Save the Green Planet! (2003), while preserving the original’s inventive imagination and dark comedic tone, the film further amplifies Yorgos Lanthimos’s signature aesthetics and absurdist worldview.
