In Betrayed: The Truth About Brexit, we set out to explore the deeper, long term causes of Brexit stretching back to austerity and even Tony Blair, the chaos it has unleashed in the UK, and why the people who voted for it now feel betrayed by the very people they chose to follow in 2016.
This screening is presented by Leeds for Europe and will be followed by a live Q&A.
Hardeep Matharu is the founding editor of Byline Times, a digital and print newspaper covering politics, current and social affairs. Their aim is to dig deep into issues and provide an alternative to the reporting of mainstream newspapers.
Liz Webster, founder of Save British Farming and featured in the film. Liz is a tireless campaigner to rejoin the EU and highlights the threat to our food security Brexit has brought and how the UK could face serious food shortages in the near future.
The event will be chaired by Richard Wilson, Chair of Leeds for Europe and vice chair of the European Movement UK the largest pro European group in Europe.
